what am i getting myself into this time
Hey everyone my name is cg. im a a super noob when it comes to the mazda club i am a current owner of a civic thats dd and also being modded as well but fwd doesent cut it for me. i before had a 240sx and was into touge racing untill i got into a wreck not there but a old lady hit me running a light. i can show pictures to show you how bad it was. I was indeed missing the rwd experience and this time in need for a change so i came across the rx-7 its a rolling chasis inside interior alright but i plan on cutting or changing but not now engine is gone and so is the trani. but thats the thing its my project and i vision it being something successful. I just need help as far as learning the different engine methods i did do some reading on the felix page that did help but i was trying to figure out what would be the cheapest and engine though and tranny? not looking for super horse power just stock for now to get myself back on the track. Thanks again and i look forward to gain knowledge from you guys.

Welcome to the forums!! You are officially part of the darkside. Cheapest rotary you can find is the 12A and it is usually the most durable if taken care of properly. Post some more information about your 7 and post up some pics!!
Just read your profile
Welcome to the forum.
There are a couple diffferent routes that you can take seeing that you starting with just the chassis. Spend some time reading the fact and searching through the archieves. Theres lots too read. Good luck with your project

First decision to make is what are you planning on using the car for? Is this going to be a daily driver/commuter, drag strip, autocross, roadracer or multipurpose?
Second one is budget and skill level.
From there, we can point you in a couple of different directions as fas as engine, drivetrain and suspension.
Depending on those choices, you enter either the Dark side, or become Rod Serlings new best friend.

Touge is some serious **** and if your not set up just right you can **** up bad. But hey welcome to the club. I love my 12A but alot of people swap in the bigger 13B's. Just do alot of research and alot of reading. I used to sit on this computer just searching and reading till 4 in the morning sometimes. It really does helps to read as much as possible about these cars.
