Went to my first autocross.....

well i think it was around three hours driving alltogether. i got to run one time, then when i finished my car wouldnt go into gear(still have pedal feel, no leaking fluid and a solid disc). so i sat the rest of the races out, then i rode with kentetsu in his car(which is awesome by the way!) it was such an awesome experience, i also got to ride with one of the guys that was putting on the whole thing, probably the best driver there(from what i heard) he had an awesome VW truck. it was like a roller coaster,it was such an adrenaline rush, i loved it. so as some of you may know, i had a problem with a bent axle, well when we went to leave, the axle was alot worse(gee i wonder how lol) so the other guy that was holding the event had a flatbed for just this occasion, so we loaded up my car on his flat bed, and i got to stay the night at his house, it was awesome, talking about racing, and he made me steak. but during the whole thing, i got to drive kentetsu's car which drove like a brandnew car, it was so well balanced, and i got to drive kurt's(the guy with the flat bed) spit fire...wow was that an experience!

so all in all, it was a good weekend, i cought the bug, and ill be back out there as soon as i get the car ready. and and on top of it all they refunded my money because i only got to run once. but im not sour about the whole thing, i know its the nature of the beast, and everyone was helpful, which i appreciate! so thanks everyone!

P.S. im going tomarrow to get my new axle, and ill probably order new bearings, and then i will fix the suspension on my other 7.
P.P.S. there was a second gen there, and they abused it! it was sad, they ran it till it overheated, and didnt turn the fan on, then once they overheated it, they kept racing it!( i guess they didnt care, cause it wasnt their car it was their bosses)

I definitely hope you get your car fixed soon. It sucks that it had to go out like that, but man I bet your run was full of adrenaline. I can't wait to hit my first autocross event.

i did, i had so much adrenaline. it was a very short course, and i didnt end up shifting to second till about 2/3 of the way through. at one point i looked down and was at like 8 thousand rpms, so i decided i needed to shift. it was all over so fast. but i didnt get lost on the track once, which i was really afraid of, although i did walk it like 6 times. and i didnt hit any cones either.
