Well.. i finally crashed the seven :( I Need advice/help?

about 2 weeks ago i was driving my fb in the rain and i spun out and hit the guardrail..

im still getting used to right wheel drive, only my 2nd time driving it in the rain, and i was just being stupid... so i guess you can say i deserved it.. as much as it sucks..

Its still driveable, i had to jimmy rig a turn signal (not in pics) and tape up the tail lights to make it "legal" to drive.. I wasnt planning on driving it much at all until i got it fixed but YESTERDAY morning (less than 3 weeks after this) i rear ended a mercedes in my corolla (commuter..) so now i have to drive the seven as a daily.. which pisses me off cause theres only 70k on it.. i want to keep the miles down, and its humiliating driving it around with all the damage..

But! Ever since the accident, whenever the windows are down, all i can smell is gas. and im not saying like "oh, theres a faint odor of gas" its like "HOLY **** THATS A LOT OF GAS".. A few of my rotary friends say its just a charectoristic of the rotaries, and yeah i've always been able to smell SOME gas when i was gunning it, but now its constant and strong.. My buddies uncle, who has taught me everything i know about cars, said that i may have damaged or broken the "breather hole/line" from the gas tank to the carb? i know nothing about carbs.. i've looked around the engine, and theres some not-fresh moisture under the base of the carb.. otherwise its all clean. theres no fluid leakage at all from the car.. so im kinda confused... any ideas?

those are the pics..
The feeder tube isnt cracked, and still works, no leaks whatsoever.. i got lucky..

The fuel filler shifted quite a bit, have you checked the rubber flex sections and breather for that assembly?

Sorry to hear about the crash. When you say "Finally.." were you planning to crash the 7? I hope not!

Damn, that's smashed in quite a bit, especially at odd angles.
In order to repair that I would cut out that side and replace it from a donor car, just less mess with hammering it out and filling it with bondo.
How do your lights even work still?
Man that really sucks though. Good luck.

It would be cheaper to find a doner and have a bodyshop replace it.

well on the east coast not really. I would only need the small panels that retail for 75ea for both sides I am at 300...and 100 (overkill) for shipping. All the donors over here are rotted in this area or patched to hell so this seems like a reasonable alternative to me.

KansasCity...for the OP...I agree with you...he would do better to find a donor for what is injured on his car

as much as id like to say it was.. it actually wasnt.. i was just cruising up the hill i usualy drift on, but cause it was raining i didnt want to push it at all.. in 2nd gear, going like 25-30 miles an hour. started to turn in, the back end kicked out, i panicked and floored the breaks, locking the tires up. spun completely backwards and hit the guardrail....

Start with 400 grit, then 600-800, then 1500....hit it with a good compound then a buffing wheel; should polish up nice.

With as much as that filler neck must've moved I don't see how it couldn't be the area the smell was coming from....

its probably coming from that are because he wrecked it. all the metal around the are is sealed so the fuels do not go in the car and now once it pushed all the metal it separated the sealer so you get a gas smell inside your car

That has a lot of bad creases. One by the hatch key hole, one halfway up the rear quarter glass. Thats going to be hell to fix. Good luck dude! If you need a hand with anything let me know, not that I'm any good at body work, but I'm always down to help.

I have a nice open diff sitting in my garage if you'd like to trade =D I can always use a spare LSD lol.

yeah i managed to take a look at the filler tube.. im seeing a rubber "tube" covering the seperate metal peices on the filler and the tank. the "breather" tube is kinked from a piece of the body..

the only time im getting a gas smell is when the windows are open, so im guessing it IS comming in from the inside of the car, but it just sits in the back unless theres other air around..

This just sucks... i've gotta use this car as my daily driver now cause i wrecked my corolla.. and every day it kills me XD. first that theres a problem with my baby, and its just humiliating driving this thing around. its like "HEY LOOK AT MY BADASS CAR... but not the back... please not the.. Oh you saw that..."

any suggestions for fixing the feeder tube/fume leak?
thanks for the help everyone!

Just because you dont agree with what i enjoy doing, doesnt mean that you have to go out of your way to bring out a derrogatory remark.

Maybe you should learn some respect and deicency.
