Weights of rear Counterweights
Anybody know the weights of the different 12A rear counterweights? I am trying to determine if an engine that is available to me is usable in its current form.
Also, if this engine doesn't work out, what would I have to do to run a 84 12A in a 1980 Chassis? I think the biggest issue is the 12A has a flexplate for an Auto on it, not a flywheel. Is it possible to put the 1980 flywheel on the 84 (if I use the 84 counterweight).
Thanks!
Rob

Do you have a digital caliper? Measuring is a good way to tell which rear counterweight you have.
It's not possible to put a 1980 flywheel on your 84. The built in weight offset will chew through stationary bearings in a few hundred miles and possibly cause a noticeable vibration.
