This weekend gave me new paint and a new engine
I got alot accomplished this weekend, I painted my car friday night, and saterday morning, and then sat night and sunday morning i finally rebuilt my engine after waiting 5 months while sourcing a good rotor housing. The paint turned out pretty good for my first time, mild orange peel but overall i'm very pleased with the results. Please notice the vented header panel on the car, i made it out of fiber glass and i'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The rebuild was alot easier than i anticipated. As long as you take your time, and focus on all the small details its a breeze! I did however manage to loose one corner seal rubber insert, but 'm not too concerned, i've read some people dones use them at all? The engine turns over easily by hand, and smoothly, i can hear the compression throught the sparkplug holes, althought the true test will take place tommorrow. The engine has a carbon kevlar clutch with HD pressure plate, a 48 weber IDA carb, street ported engine using racing beat templates, Cadillac 120 Amp Alternator, All new hard seals and springs. took me about 5-6 Hours to reassemble everything. Take a loot at the pics. I'm shitting my pants with excitement, I also threw in an LSD over the winter, it should be a totally different beast.

Thanks, yea the exhuast sleve of one of the housings is still a little crummy, its just combustion build up and stuff, that was the housing i have been waiting on, so once i got it i was in a rush to start building, so i didn't clean the exhaust sleve as well as i could have, I don't think it will have any real effect tho, so it should be ok. I opted on leaving the exhuast ports stock, i read that they are big enough to flow enough for a bridgeport, and modifying puts more risk on the apexs. I really built the engine to be reliable i hope, as i've gone through 3 engines in the last 3 years, all use engines mind you.

one question i do have concerning the rebuild is that there is an o-ring left over, that came with the master rebuild kit. Its the biggest one that came in the pack, I have no idea where it goes and i don't recall taking one of that size off the engine in the first place. Anyone run into this problem too?
