Weber question

I have a 48mm dco/sp - stock port. it runs so rich its disgusting, its impossible to perfectly tune the idle to run smooth and if u hold it ad 3500-4000 rpm it spudders bad. What should be in this carb for it to run smoothly. i think i got the wrong size idle jets and venturies and everything.

easy. 65f9 idle jets. 180 main jets, 170 air correctors, and 45 or 50 accelorator pumpjet... turn the idle jets all the way in then turn them out 3 turns and slowly turn out for more fuel and in to lean it out.

thats what he has... or close to anyho....

the sputtering// missing your hearing is common on 2bbl carbs... its the carb switching back and fourth... idle circut- main circut, idle circut- main circut, idle circut- main circut... it does this fast,so normally you cant hear it or feel it, but when there is little or no load it sounds like its missing because of no load it is a rich condition, also you will feel the car surge or buck also...
the remedy... keep the motor under load or no load, try not to make the car cruise, this is when it does it most....

yea I put down 140 to the rear wheels with a stock port gsl-se block... 14.6@92mph I think that's okay. LOL And I guess I'm a liar, I was looking through my old time slips and my best 60 ft's I've gotten have been 2.0's. the 1.8 i got was in a friends car. oops... I'm pretty sure that's what I'm running I'll pull them out tomarrow and check 4 u...
