Weber Carb and Intake Install Q's *Name that part!*

Ok, so what i got here is the manifold installed, but 4 total throttle-like cables, and a plethera of vaccum lines, with minimal input options. I know the choke isnt used on this carb, but what are the other two? I need to know what goes where.

ok, i dont own a weber but i will tell you what i do know. the first pic all i know is that those are your choke and throttle. if you dont have a choke then the only linkage setup must be for the throttle. pic 2: those are your vaccum advance hoses; i suggest just disconnecting them all together, but do not cap them off. just leave them open. pic 3: fuel line is correct, the "whats this" i have no clue. pic 4: yes that is hooked up correctly. pic 5: looks pretty good. you have the vac advance hooked up and seems good so if you want just leave it like that. all you need is to get that throttle linkage hooked up and it seems you dont have a fuel pressure regulator. you should atleast invest in one of those and a better fuel pump will help too. hope i help a little!

#1pic) one cable is throtle one is choke, the throtle cable is the cable that has a bit of thread on the end with 2 nuts.(or could you just press down on the gas pedal and see which cable is moving and thats the throtle cable) Right in front of the fuel inlet on the cab there is a bracket with a hole in it, the cable threads through that and uses the nuts (one on each side to secure it), and you will have to cut the very end off the cable the little ball part to thread the cable stop on the throtle linkage. at least on mine I did.

#2pic) vac lines, my are disconnected, but if it runs good then you could leave them connected, don't cap, just cap where you have them on the manifold

#3pic) Thats the choke, you could hook it up, or leave it alone if it doesn't get to cold where you are, I myself have never used it, and don't plan on.

#4pic)hooked up right, its for the brakes, goes to the brake booster for vaccum

#5pic) everything looks good. right above the 1 in this picture is the bracket for the throtle cable.

Ok, thanks! I dont have more pics for right now, but there are two hoses coming up from around the firewall, one spits a gas like mixture (smells like gas) and the other nothing. What are these?

Only 2 lines I can remember are a fuel line, and a return fuel line. of the 2 the fuel line is obvisiouly the one the spits fuel when the key is turned to on, but its also the larger of the 2.

Are you saying that you have(or what you think) is the fuel line hooked up and there is still 2 other lines, one with fuel coming out the other isn't?

the return line shouldn't have anything coming out of it, it should have a one way check vavle (among with other things)installed in the rear by the back axle ( both the 83s I had had this, don't know if earlier years had, but I am sure they did). if your not going to run a regulator with a return port on it you could cap it off there on the firewall, which would still give you a return line if you ever did get a reg w/return line option. or remove the whole line. but that deals with messing with the venting of the tank.
