Weak E-brake

I have an 84 S but the whole rear axle is from the GSL. Therefore I now have LSD and Rear Disk Brakes that are not original to my trim style. The E-brake is kinda weak; if I park on a decent enough incline, the car will drift a bit. The rear pads seem to have alot of meat on them still. Do you think the PO replaced the rear end without swapping brake cables? What else could this be?

first off, the drum cables will not even hook onto the calipers and therefore would not actuate the parking brake mechanism on the caliper itself. remove the single screw on the left side of the parking brake handle's plastic trim. then split the trim in half. there will be an upper and a lower piece. there's an adjustment nut that you can tighten to increase the tension on the cables and improve the parking brake action. ensure you remove the retaining clip before trying to turn the nut. it just slides straight up and off.

The retaining clip was not there but I adjusted it and now it works fine! They must have put in the new cable when they did the swap.
