hey guys ,just got a aftermarket water temp guage for my 81 and im wondering where the hell i should place the sender unit, anyone know off hand where i can place this ? my stock guage doesn't work and its summer time

 

Go to autozone and get the metric adapter kit. It was 5 bucks. It's sold near the gauges. Thread adapter into water pump housing and thread 1/8 NPT sensor into adapter. works great. Also don't forget teflon tape threads.

Do you mean to replace the Temp sensor that is for the choke? That is the only hole that is already threaded into the Water pump, Correct?
