Wanna remove 5lbs off your car?

Remove the rear wiper and motor!!!

Last weekend I removed that and the headlight sprayer motor/resivior tank, cruise control, and rear sprayer motor/resivior.

I wish I stared weighing everything that I have removed since the start!

Take about another 40-50 lbs off..

Take the seats out, you don't need 'em.

hell yah.. i wish i was tall enough to ride with out the seats.. for a while i had only one seat in. through in a folding chair if someone else needed a ride

besides, when you want reall weight reduction, look at the doors. yah that is right.. it is a hell of a lot of fun riding around with no doors..

To plug the holes in the glass I used one of the circle caps that hold the wiper motor on, and I just have to get another one from another car.

As for my weight I'm 170lbs and 6'0 in height. Nothing to loose there.

I'm just removing suttle things cuz I have a IMPORTANT race against a Supra turbo. I'm gonna use every power trick in the book. The supra only has a k&n filter and a muffler.

It looks great, but it hasn't been running well. He's a close friend but he like to talk! I've been in his car and it pulls just like my RX7. But he has a heavy system 2 15's and 3 amps and a **** load of dynamat. The car was at iscaa finals couple of years ago. Back then he had 6 kicker 12's. Floor speakers, kick panel speakers, everything etc. Very nice work!

Do your doors have side intrusion bars there in the states??
our aussie cars do, im building a street/drag 1st gen at the moment and got a pair of Jap inport doors and they are less than half the weight of the others cause they dont have the cars in there, and they have wind up windows,
another way is to rewire the car and **** off all the wires that arnt needed, i got rid of about 15kg of wire out of my car

Thanks for the door idea, I've heard about that door beam but I have never seen it. I'll take a closer look into my doors.

Things I've removed so far....

-inner bumper bracing front and back
-a/c
-p/s
-cruse control
-headlight washer motor/resivor
-every heat sheild removed
-thick sound detenting materal from under the carpets and replaced with very thin sponge.
-spare tire
-jack/tire iron
-amps and my sub (just for this race)
-rear wiper and motor
-rear sprayer motor and resivor
-front dust shields for brakes
-engine under cover
-covers around the gas tank
-air box

I can't remove the seats cuz the car has to "look" normal. So the interior must be intact. He won't notice the sub gone cuz it's usually covered anyway.

I'll be running skinnies in the front for this. And I'm working on getting an electric fan and removing my clutch fan. Also I bought the MSD 6AL ready to be put in. We are only racing in May so by then I'll have a second msd box and hopefully my nos 75hp shot of nos installed.

By then I'll be way over 200 hp w/nos. I'll g-tech my mods b4 the race.

The door beams cant be missed, they are huge!!! take off the door trim and have a quick look, if you rip out the power windows as well you will save at least another 6kg in weight, wind ups are easier any way, my power windows never worked properly!

Take your starter off, and just push start it...Keep only a gallon or about 3-4liters of gasoline or Petro distallite in the car. Remove the muffler and put a pipe out the back that looks kinda stock. take the tires off the wheels, oh wait, you may need them. LOL

You can also take a sawzall to the innfer fenderwells. Oh, and cut out that upper layer of sheetmetal under the bins. If it's a short race, lose the radiator too. Just stick in a BIG bolt....

Get rid of the tar under the carpets. Front to back it adds up to like 30-40 lbs IIRC. And yes I weighed it.

How come? Just curious...

It'd be lighter, but it wouldn't have rear discs or LSD. I'd rather have those and take out the luxo items rather than the other way around.

Believe it or not, he blew his engine prior to the race, and its still in the shop. He sent it to some Honda place and yah its been there for about a year!! Im pretty sure by now they have just forgotten about his car.
