One mod that saves gas every time you accelerate is a light flywheel. The lighter, the more gas saved.

Tires can make a big difference. You want skinny, high pressure, low grip ones. This kind generally has much lower rolling resistance. On the other hand, lowering the car will improve its aerodynamics, so you can get back some of the cool points you lost with the motorcycle tires.

Install huge electric fans onto the back of your car to push it for better MPG. Electricity doesn't cost much off the car.

CO my mpg

I too really wanted to know how to improve gas mileage.

You see I use the little bastard to deliver pizzas, sacralige I know. So I am really interested in improving the mileage.

I live in a state that allows you to register your car as a classic, after you do this and it passes emissions just the first time the test is never agian brought up.

Dump your cat, You can get or have made a straight pipe to replace it. I saved my cat incase I needed to sell and pass emissions and had a straight pipe made to fit in the vacant space. The end cost of the one that I had made was around $25. I bought the flanges online and just went to a muffler shop and had them weld a pipe in the center of them.

Swap your belt that drives your water pump and your air pump out for the one that will only drive the water pump. The belt is a 3L220 V Belt 3/8" X 22" and I bought mine off ebay for less than a buck each. Get a few like I did I snapped the first one trying to put it on.

Some people say remove the AC belt. I never noticed any real improvement doing this. I've had it on and off, its a easy belt for me though because my compressor isnt the stock one. Its out of a ford of some type.

By taking off the cat and removing the air pump belt my mileage shot up 9 m.p.g. from 13 to 22. Best part is you can leave the rats nest on and everything else right where it is and just replace the cat and the belt and be emmissions compliant agian in less than a half hour for that yearly test.

If your mileage jumped up that much form the removal of the Air pump then your emission equipment was malfunctioning and causing the poor mileage.

^^^What he said... sounded like a bit too much restriction from the cat at the very least. That is a big jump for those small mods but congrats on the mpg leaps regardless!
