Exclamation vibration in rear...

I need some help on determining what the problem is with my rx-7. Firstly there's a noise in the rear, and i'm not sure what it is. when i'm in first or just rolling forward slowly, it sounds like there's metal rubbing on something...maybe the brake, or maybe a bearing? this sound sort of echos throughout the car and the sound occurs about once per revolution of the wheel. I've replaced the pinion bearing, both u joints, and the rear left bearing trying to make this sound go away. All that i've replaced has helped but the sound is still there... I'll try and post in another thread a video/audio file of the problem. But i'm open to any help i can get right now.

Check and see if the heat shielding is hitting against the driveshaft.

Mine started doing that on Tuesday. was making a thumping sound whenever I let off the gas. Didn't sound tinny/clangy like a driveshaft though. Didn't know if it was a ujoint, rear end or what. Found the heat sheil rubbing on the driveshaft front ujoint right where it is welded to the driveshaft tube. I took my 5lb customizing tool and reshaped the sheild. No more noise.

Later,
Bill
