vibration at 60 mph+..

Just had my wheels balanced so thats ruled out. Not the engine cuz I can push in the clutch and it's still there. Kinda feels like its coming from the rear. Will wheel bearings in the rear axle do this??? I know of them making a rotaional "whoom whoom" sound but haven't heard too many issues with them causing a vibration...Yeah I'm being lazy and havn't done any real diagnosing yet but just throwing out the Q and seeing what may come back. Rear U-joints dont wobble when jerked around...need to remove driveshaft to check front ones..

U-joints, tranny mount are the 1st places to look. When cheking th u-joints, they should neither be too stiff or loose and no little 'bumps' when moved through the full range of articulation.

As far as tires go, even a tire with a broken belt of tread seperation that can cause a bubble between belts will balance.

Swap tires from front to rear. Is the vibration from 60-65 then goes away or does it get worse the faster you go?

A guy at the mechanic shop spent 7000$ on engine and transmission repair before he brought his truck to us.

He had warped rear tires.

Boy was he mad and happy at the same time

tires is a good possibility...the RF is wearing BADLY cuz i had a larger size tire on the RR for about 2 months as a band aid because no one carried a Proxes 4 205/55 so I went to a 205/60 for the time being. Now the RF inside is practicly gone.

Its especially bad at 60 and slightly goes away after that BUT that my just be because less weight in the front because I'm accelerating to pass that horrible spot....I'll start with a tire and then rear bearings cuz I know I need them too....

Not to thread jack, but this is along the same lines. Ever since I got my project car on the road it has a nasty vibration, especially in gear, off throttle that starts at 70+ and gets worse the faster you get, the irony is that it is more noticable when you let off. I switched to the wheels off my other car, which doesn't vibrate, still the same, I swapped driveshafts, still the same. The axle bearings are new. Could a worn tail shaft bearing in the trans cause this? Something tells me it may be in the trans because it was in the car when I got it, so its history/true mileage is unknown, whereas the engine, rear end etc do have known histories.
