Vibration
how are your tires and your motor mounts? have you checked those yet? have you ever used FIX A FLAT? cuz one time i used that cuz i really really had to. it work good for awhile but then afterwards it just turns into a nasty liquid that just floats around inside your tire and causes your balancing to go off.
yep. could also be that your wheels need balancing. my buddy's 240sx was ridiculously vibrating on the steering wheel and the problem was solved when he got his rims balanced. not that expensive to balance either.. professional local wheel shop wll do
Had slight vibration, purchased new tires. Had the balancing rechecked. (Maybe one of the new tires are bad?) Had the u-joints replaced. Vibration got worse. Vibrations is worse at higher RMP's. 3rd & 5th gear "appear" to be worse. I was leaning toward the transmission, but my husband rotated the drive line 180 degrees. No change. I will check the mounting brackets.
I know you say you had the U-Joints replaced, but is the driveshaft balanced? You said it got worse after they did it, maybe the balance weights are falling off and when they did the work they knocked more of them off? I would check that.
In my experiance its usually a tire low, wheel/tire out of balance, or a driveshaft imbalance. It could possibly be bad mounts too, the tranny mount on one of my cars was completely toasted, so thats possible too, however I usually see it being one of the first few things I listed before that. Good luck!
