Anyone know where to find a new dashpot for the trailing vacuum advance? 81-85 style distributor. Mine is leaky.

 

I have a junk dizzy if you want it Brad. Come and pick it up.

 

Thanks Mel, I have a few used ones I can put a vacuum pump on and check them out. If they're bad I may hit you up!

 

My spare distributor that got pulled and put on the shelf because the engine ran like crap with it installed, has a trailing dashpot in surprising good condition, put it on a 10psi vacuum overnight with only a 1 psi drop in the mornin. put a light oil on the linkage and its ready to install. Need to test test the leading one again to be sure.

 

The vacuum canisters are only available with the distributor. You're doing the right thing by looking at off the shelf used parts.
