Vaccuum Hose Q - More Issues...

Well, I've been trying to figure this one out for a while, and I can't seem to find it through searches or across the internet. How much of what size vaccuum hose does a stock FB (rat's nest included) take? All the rubber on my engine is pretty gone, so I figure I would invest in some of that spiffy platinum silicone stuff.

I was told on another site '15ft'... but neither do I know what diameter, or even how diameter for vaccuum hoses is measured.

Another new pain, does anyone know where I can get a driver's side heater hose? Mine blew apart (oil leak on the cooler, go fig) and no one local seems to have anything but generic hoses that don't look like they fit the application correctly.

Oh, and I've discovered yet another oil leak, and this one is pretty bad (roughly 1 actual drip off the engine every 2-4 seconds at idle) that is on the driver's side of the engine, a little father back then the Oil Cooler leak was originally. I'm curious if there's another seal there that may have gone, or if I'm just a total idiot and repaired the beehive wrong...

Any help in these matters would be greatly appreciated. I put little end caps where the heater hose went so I can limp it around until I have a place to store and work on it again, but no heater hose means no defogger. >.<

whats wrong with generic heater hoses? check a wreckers if you're worried about fitment...

as for vacuum hoses, try hosetechniques, they dont have a kit for the first gens, but the second gen kit should aim you in the right direction. g'luck
