Used car shopping - 1985 FB

I found a 1985 RX7 online a few days ago and I have been thinking about picking up the car as a new daily driver for the summer, I drive a grand marquis and I'm looking for something with better mileage and something sporty. What should I look for when I go to check out this car?

This is what I know so far: Priced under a grand.

1985 MAZDA RX-7 12A 5 SPD INCUDES HEADER,MANY NEW PARTS

no rust, needs clutch slave cylinder($25 part, 5 minute install,do every thing from engine bay no jack needed)you could go with out changing it but you have to add fluild every couple days, i already installed a mazda oem clutch hose. im not sure of miles ill have to check ,they are relavively low miles i think like 86,000

I get pretty good gas miles out of mine if I keep my carb filter clean and everything is in great working condition. Also mine is stock and not moded. You should be fine and remember anything porty will use more gas the same with my girlfriend 2000 Hyudai Tiburon SE.

Well I have some mods done to the grand marquis, namely a mustang engine, so it sucks down gas at about 16-17mpg. I figure a stock or slightly modded (carb & exhaust work) RX7 should at least get me over 20mpg.

if the slave clutch cylinder in a 5 minute install why doesn't the seller do it? maybe he likes nuking the paint with the leaking brake fluid?
