Upholstery Replacement

I have a 1983 GSL with red leather upholstery. Has anyone in the RX-7 Club found a good solution to the deteriorating upholstery problem? I have only found passenger side red leather seats in reasonably good condition at the Roy "Y" (the RX-7 salvage yard here in Washington State), but it doesn't look like they can be easily adapted to the driver's side. Dealer ordering would be unbelievably expensive, if even possible.

Do you have both original seats? If so talk to the guys at Holcomb in Aberdeen, they stiched a bench seat for me for $120.00... even put in new springs. Let me also add that this seat had ZERO cover or padding left...

try LeatherSeats.com. They may or may not have 1st gen seats. I got my FD's there.

2nd try www.mazdarecycling.com. They are the biggest rX7 junkyard.

Peace.

you may even see if you can find a good set of 2nd gen seats, they bolt right up and they're way more comfy than the 1st gen seats
