carter fuel pump 70gph I believe and 7 psi, (like 60 bucks from summitracing.com), and holleys 1-4 psi fuel pressure regulator is needed with the new pump to make the pressure in the range where you need it (like 20 bucks also from summit)

Why upgrade the fuel pump? I know guys running 600+CFM Holley's using the stock pump. I did and it was awesome.

Stock pump is fine for mild street driving and cruising, but will not keep up with the stock carb under sustained full throttle conditions. A high performance intake exacerbates the situation.

I use the aforementioned Carter / Holley setup on my autocross / race cars, although as noted it is not as quiet as preferred for daily driving. Just turn up the stereo.

I only hear my holley red at idle. After that, all I hear is exhaust.
