it's already done.....

I just have to develope and scan the new pic's of the car.

we've done about 90 kms on the car so far.... Tuning has been quite easy so far....

 

what are you running for air/fuel management? Haltech, Mega squirt, stock turbo II ecu?

I hear you man... I see tons of aftermarket for the corrolla AE86.... carbon fiber everything manifolds etc. WTF.... a corrolla???

Luckily for us, we've been blessed with mechanical equipement which I am greatful for but we need to see cosmetic stuff aswell because I'm sure lots of people are turned off of the 1st gen due to lack of support.

In the comming weeks I am going to attempt to re-create my rear bumper in CF for the silver rx7, I already have a front airdam for it, which needs some repair work.

My plans are to start with CF door handles, and go from there. Mantis has the hood covered, someother guy is making the sunroof.....

We need sideskirts!!! And the panel between the back lights!!!

two RX-7's that's crazy, which one do you drive in the winter, Actually I was wondering how much work did it take to put the mustang bumper on your blue RX-7.

 

let me know how the rear bumper goes, i would be interested in buying one from you...is there anyway you could have it be a moled piece though, becasue you can tell where the two bumpers meet, and alos could you actuall recess the license plate in, or "french" it in, so its not just a hole.

In answer to your questions the blue rx7 has seen some crazy winters in the past but not in the past 6 years, however the silver shell hasn't seen any.

REAR BUMPER QUESTIONS......
I'm building one for the silver car, I will try and have it moulded and with the license plate frenched just like you mentioned. However I did a write up on making the bumper like two years ago.... I'm telling you it's easy, if you ever com across a mustang bumper it will take you a max of 2 days including time for drying of cemicals.

The CF version will be an experiment because since it is 3 pieces I can make small moulds instead of one crazy huge one. And mistakes will be less costly. I'd love to reproduce my front bumper aswell.

Note on my car I didn't french the license plate, I made the piece but I was worried alot of air would get trapped at highways speeds and cause it to shake in the wind. But my friends have driven behind me and it is solid way past any posted highway speeds.

What is a French license plate?

And what year Mustang came with a plate in the rear bumper? All the ones I've seen have the plate on the trunk lid. I like your rear end and I want one... Perhaps with a diffuser.

When you remove the bumper, please take pics of the back side so I can see the lines where it was cut and rejoined.

Also, anyone notice the last pic? WTF is up with that? Your car looks too good to ahve wrecked. Is it just at a funny angle or something? Trick photography.

 

i would also like a reproduction of your front bumper, that style is rare, theres one on ebay, and it was mangled, and its going for 110 right now.

 

this is a french license plate, but it doesnt have to be on an angle. it is basicly just recessed back.

 

i cant edit my last post, but what kind of intercooler is that, it looks like an ebay one.

yea if you recreated the front bumper I'd definitely buy one. No air dam is what's stopping me from adding my lip kit..

dj55b, the fuel cell came from www.bicknellracingproducts.com it's the 15 gallon model... the braided lines are your standard -an lines which you convert too. gets expensive though.

 

See, I already have hid front bumper. I need something to go to the *** end to match it... But I don't want it to catch air and act like a parachute or something, slowing me down... Hence, a diffuser might be nice...

I've driven behind my car at high speeds to see if it catch air and shake, but nothing.... it was very firm. But then again the air can escape from the lisence plate section. I think the best thing would be to have a flat panel mounted on that heat sheild in front of the gas tank and bolt on to the mustang bumper.... like an under belly tray.

Except sealed away from the exhaust.
