Unhappy u joint replacement

Is replacing u joints hard and/or expensive on a rx? Sometimes when i put my car in gear in makes a nice clank, i think it's the u joint. About how expensive is the u joint? I am going to replace both of them

Depends on the year. The 84-85s don't have replaceable U-joints. (Yeah, that's right. Mazda fucked us!)
Don't know the cost. Not expensive, easy to do yourself.
But if you need to replace the whole shaft, a junker is your best bet, financially speaking.
