Exclamation Twin sidies

Do you guys think that this will work?Putting two 40 mm sidies on a s5 turbo engine! will the two carbs flow enough and fuel it?Any one got a picture of a intake manifold of two sidies sitting on top of engine Got ida but do not find float for turbo setup.I do not want to waste a good float to fill it up with foam!I'have two sidies in the garage If i can only see a pic of such a setup maybe i could make a manifold my self>Thanks for any input

2x40mm carbs will work fine..

Jetting will be quite a mission.but it can be done with patience.

Do you have a IDA manifold,or perhaps a EFI manifold? If you do,it would be the easiest to make a manifold that bolts to the EFI/IDA one.As far as i know, there is no twin sidedraught manifold that sits on top of the engine. Only one at the side, above the exhaust.

That would be a rare intake manifold indeed. I have seen manifolds for dual 40's that position carbs beside motor or ontop of motor, but they have all been for 74-78 13b 4ports, not the turbo pattern.

Thanks,Karism and Drivefast7.Think i'm going to try and make a manifold for twin setup, was thinking to make it so each intake port will have it's own intake runner. Not enough space for downpipe between steeringbox and ida manifold.Engine is in a capella and it's been mid mounted,so pull off will almost have no wheel spin, got 5 link diff in car.Mission is to make it go fast,so i can drill my brothers friend vw caddy bakkie got 2.0 16valve super boss with turbo and make 227 kw at wheels.Any suggestions of how to or do mods please, but going to try intake manifold!!!!!

it takes a lot of work to make a manifold. i talked to a very good welder who made his own ida manifold for his racecar. each intake runner was over 10 pieces welded together and blended. aluminum.

I know it takes alot of work to build a manifold,I did build a few manifolds before but was for 4 cylinder cars. Will build test mani first with mild steel, and if working right then build one out of aluminium.Of the toppic,if putting nos[ port injection] on manifold do you split the jet size.Like a 1mm nos jet on a fogger=.50mm nos on one runner and .50mm on another runner?Did a search but guys just say 50-75hp nos systems!!
