Question Turn Signal dash light Problems

Hi,

I've got a problem with my right hand Turn signal indicator dash light in my 1981 Series II Rx-7.

The problem appears to be intermittent, occuring only when the car is driven for a while and subsiding when the car is started again the next day.

The actual turn indicator works the whole time, its just the dash light that stops working.

Eg.
1) Start the car cold, test the indicator dash lights, both work fine.
2) Drive the car for a while, right indicator dash light stops working.
3) Back home, Park, light still not working, leave car overnight, next day start up, light working again.

Any ideas guys?
cheers,

Chris

try changing out the bulb, it could be a filiment(sp?) thing, or the wiring to the instrument cluster.

Thanks Scott,

I'll try changing the bulb, I just hate getting that damned speedo cable hooked back up again!

I've got the haynes manual, more than enough to give me ideas without breaking something!

cheers,

Chris.

Hi Mark,

Yeah, each time it hasn't been working I've tried the hazard switch, same behaviour as when the indicator is activated (Works when cold, stops working when hot).

I guess that points to the globe/wiring to the dash unit?

Its great down here in Tassie man! Just started Winter and its 18 degrees (c) (around 64 (f)), thats pretty good for down here. Good for keeping the 7 nice and cool!

Roads are fun down here, did you guys follow Targa Tasmania at all? http://www.targa.org.au if you're interested. Generally a couple of 7's involved in it.

cheers,

Chris
