all you need to do is take off the steering wheel and there is a little plastic ring with 2 tabs that stick up on the steering shaft. one or both are probably broken and thats why it wont cancel.

The cam usually breaks (thats the little ring with 2 **** on it that mate into the steering wheel). I've broken it on accident by forgetting to index the steering wheel before installation. They are avalible from Mazdatrix cheaply IIRC.

LOL I shoulda read Midwests post more carefully sorry. BTW its called a cancelling cam.

You can get it from the dealer. No shipping costs. It is also fast. The dealer that I have gotten things from will send an order Monday and usually receive by Wednesday. Also, don't worry that the dealer will be too expensive. I bought mine about years ago and it was about $3.20 from the dealer at that time. One trick with Mazdatrix is they take the Mazda part number and switch it around. From the dealer, it should be like BA29-66-1260 (the end may be 126 instead of 1260).
