Turbo FB guys - What do I need to keep on my old engine???

Finally! I got the old 12a out.

I didnt have a engine hoist, so I had to use a spare pulley system I found. It wasnt easy.

anyways. what do I have to take off the old engine.

a 91 TII with a haltech going into a 82 S

what about the starter,

and wire harnesses.

theres the starter circuit, no brainer, but there is a sensor at the back of the tranny that is in the same group of wires. Whats that sensor.

There is a large group of wire going to the carb, solenoids, and alternator. Which of those do I need.

any others that im forgetting?

it sounds like your getting a little over your head here. You should do some more reasearch about just what you are doing.

In short you'll be using as little from the 12a as possible.

the seleniods and things are part of the emissions control system for the old engine, so you wont be using them.

Just lok at other people's setups to answer your questions. You probably wont find a setup exactly like yours, but if you look at enough of them, you'll be able to piece together the answers you need.

what flywheel are you using ? what tranny are you using? you need the 12a front engine cover, and a 13b early style oil pan! the only wites you need out of the oe. wiring harness is...... water temp sender wire, oil press. sender wire, oil level dummy light wire, and alternater /volt meter wires(small plug on the alt) the rest is junk! also you will need to slot the engine mount so the 13b will fit...wich haltech are you using?

the alternator was easyily figured out.

I do need the dummy light setup but I dont need the guage senders as I am installing all new autometer guages. I dont trust the stock guages.

i know about the front cover and oil pan and modifying the engine brace.

I have not got the engine yet but Im planning on a s5 engine with a s4 tranny. Stock flywheel and a RB clutch.

so I need the starter setup, the alt, and the dummy oil level light. all the new guages come with senders.

am I missing anything? nobody told me what that sensor is on the back of the tranny.

Leave the n/a starter on the 12a because it won't work with the T2 trans.
