Arrow Tubing on the Converter.....

Ok my car is hesitating and i know its my catalytic converter (its was "clogged" earlier this year and im pretty sure it happened again)......it is easy to take off...but there is this tubing attached to the converter....how do i remove that tubing so i can take off the converter..... i hope these pics are clear enough....

what year car? it looks aftermarket, Take off the clamp, By loosing the two nuts to the right of the "here", take off the clamp, if you are real lucky the pipe will just slip off, if not you will have to pull and twist and fight it. you can also take this apart at the carb end, it genteraly has a hose connecting the hard line to a hard line to the carb.

i have an 82' GS...and i dont think its an aftermarket converter from what i know......

It is deffenitaly different then the other 2 I have seen. Took out the cat on my 82 GSL this weekend. The pipe on it had a flange on the cat and on the pipe going up and they bolt together.

This is aftermarket cat but the connection was welded to the new cat. you can see the flange. The rubber end is the part that connects to the Carb.

^^^^ yeah taht pipe right under your converter (in the pic) ...is what MY tube is......What us that tube...i think it leads to the carb????(i don't know)...anyways does anyone know what that tube is for...if i disconnect it..what will happen???

It is from the ACV I think and feeds the cat with air. They say the cat will die really fast with out it.

it dilutes the unburnt fuel coming to the cat with air so that it doesn't kill the cat.

whats a catalytic convertor?
