Thumbs down Trying to put e-brake lines it...nope

For a little background, I have an 85 GS with GSL-SE suspension components.

When I got this car, it did not have the e-brake lines. I went and snagged a pair from a 85 GSL, figuring those would work as well because it's disc in the rear as well. When installing the driver side, it seemed to be too short. I went and compared the 2, and one was longer. I used the longer on the driver side. When I get around to doing the passenger side, it seemed short as well, but I dropped the last clip holding the brake line against the chassis, used my retard strength, and got them together. When it came to hooking it up to the caliper, I barely got it on there, and the slot on the caliper for holding the cable in place is too far away from the nuts on the cable to even think about getting it on there.

What gives? Are the GSL and GSL-SE e-brake cables different? Did I need to get the whole front assembly for the e-brake lines as well? (the front part that connects to the handle inside the car) Or do I have them backwards?

the GSL and GSL-SE brake cable are most defiantly different. i have a spare set of SE cables and i can post a pic for reference if you'd like.

Another update here:

I took off both sides thinking they might be crossed up. Tried the longer one on the passenger side, it was too long. So I go about putting them back on again. I put the passenger side one on first this time. It went together easily. Get to the driver side, it goes on easily as well, except when I get to the back side (caliper side), it seemed short. So I go back to the passenger side and leave it hooked up but release it from the clip on the caliper.

Went back to driver side and it all came together better, hooked everything up. Go back to passenger side and now it's short again!!!!! It's got me thinking that perhaps the e-brake cable needs to be adjusted. Time to read the FSM
