Trying to get a price on a 79 RX7, can you help?

I found a 79 with A/C and roof. the body looks great no dents, no rust, very clean and the paint looks rather new.
The car shows 80,154 on the odo.

I looked under the car and saw that the exhaust would have to be replaced.

It does seem like it had tune-up recently...

KBB.com does not list past 1984...

So what would everyone here say its worth?

We would need pics to really say. If the interior is nice and no cracks on the dash, body looks great then $1500 is a good starting point. The 79 is a bit hard to find in real good condition so up to 2k in stock form.

So people luck up and find one easy, took me more than a year to find one near me with a title, and it had wreak damage, of corse the SP motor made up for the damage.

NADA retail prices:

1979 RX-7 GS model:

low $1,900 average $2,800 high $3,850

1979 RX-7 S model:
low $1,750 average $2,625 high $3,700

79's are not very common but obviously condition is the most important factor. New paint may not be a good thing. A good paint job would cost more than the highest value of the car so beware of cheap poorly prepped paint that can chip or scratch.

OK thanks guys, Although I have decided to pass on the car for my old AE86 that just came back up for sale, the 79 RX7's interior is in very very good condition no rips or tares, just the speaker cover looks to be damaged thats it.
IF anyone would like a pic or two and the location I'll be happy to pass it along.
