Truck tyres & RX7's - Dont Match (story here)
Driving down the local highway a couple of days ago, doing about a 120 mile trip to my Lawyers office. As we were cruising along at the speed limit, 110 k's (68 mph) suddenly in front of me, was a bloody aluminium frame - about 5 foot by 7 foot - nothing I could do - nowhere I could turn. Cars next to me and cars behind me on the Highway! So I ran the thing over, didn't I? Great, I thought. . . I look into my rear vision mirror and see the frame had flown into the air and smashed down on the Camry behind me. Great, bloody **** on the road - I couldn't believe it. I pull over a few yards further up to inspect the damage - I got away clean, nothing a buff won't take care of.
Drive for another 4 or 5 miles and bugger me, if I don't look up at the "pick-up" ahead of me - it's just ran over a delaminated truck tyre and is slowly exiting from the back of the pick up. "****!" I think, I'm gonna have to run this ****** over too!" What to do, a solid wall (highway barrier) on my left, cars behind and cars on the right. . . Crunch, smash, pop, bang, grind, scrap, squeal, thud. ****, a 4 inch thick 12 inch wide 6 foot long messed up, ripped up, torn, steal belted radial truck tyre has just gone underneath my (not much clearance) "7". ****! - This time when I pull over to inspect any damage - I am not so lucky! Black tyre rubber marks all over the front spoiler, a great chunk out of the right hand side, cracks, missing paint, and distorted fibre-glass, metal and plastic. Check the rear to see where the bitch exited - same story - a bent plastic under tray and various bruising. Bitch! Get back in the car and keep cruising - now not very happy, and what do we see? Pulled into a truck stop bay on the side of the highway is a HUGE Kenny, with the driver replacing a blown tyre - and 7 cars all lined up behind him taking his details!
That wrecked tyre damaged 8 cars (including mine) and the driver assures us all (yeah, right) his company WILL pay for all our damage. . .
What a day. . I should have kept Madeline in the garage that day!

Man that is some pritty shitty luck!!
But look on the brite side the car is still intacked .
There have been a few guys latly on this forum that have lost most of the car, or all of it, and have not too much left if any.
Any way good luck with making the Truck Company Pay...

at least you found out who had the problem and you can blame someone instead of going to your insurance and saying "help!!" I would report it to them so that they can fight for you, though.
