Thermal Reactor, the rear's a bitch. I don't think I had the right universal joints to get it off....finally ended up going to to Speedy to get it off. I think I might have the right bits to do it now. You could always bash the weld of the TR that's in the way, it's not like you need to keep it in perfect shape...hmm why didn't I think of that at the time, damn.

If it's 9/16 I'll go look right now...I have a bunch of ujoints. Inheriting a full chest of Snap-On tools has been really sweet.

yea i got a **** load of tools, but they havent been used in like proly 7 years, since i only now started getting into mechanics, and my dads been to lazy to sort them , i found 1 9/16 , but the ujoint i have is way to big to fit into that tiny little spot... (ujoint combined with 9/16 = just to big , but 9/16 might be a bit to big im not sure.

I have a 9/16 u-joint as well as separate u-joints. I think I figured that it would take a u-joint socket to a small extension to a regular u-joint to a large bar. I don't remember what they used when i took it to the shop....air tools mmm. I wish I still had them. If you do get it off, don't drop it on your feet, it's fricken heavy.

I'm the one who posted the "magic socket" thread. You need a SHORT socket with a built-in u-joint, the extension u-joint is just too long. The one I have had been ground down to be shorter as well as having a smaller O.D. You might want to use a six-point socket rather than a twelve-point. Good luck! -Mike
