trip in the 7???
I bought my car for $500...with 150k miles on it. Then drove it 2000+ miles through the mountains with no problems. Of course I would check to makes sure you have a basic tuneup done and of course make sure your fluids are good and what not.

well, good news, all!!!!! the 7 and my guest have arrived, unscathed and weary from the excruciating trip from the bowels of heck. the 7, which is named lucy, did marvelous and bastioned the journey with prestigue. rack one up for us first gen guys! trek part one completed!!!!!
after i had gotten into fb's i have done the drive to/from denver co to Atl. Ga. 9 times round trip..... 1400 miles 1 way. my 79 had a killer dowel pin oil leak, so i would stop and check oil about every 200 miles. i also drove from denver to myrtle beach.... via atl. and also from sandiego ca. to 7 stock 4 to denver with a dowel pin leak. This was when i bought my 83 l.e. And every year i drive my fb to ohio for a family reunion from atl. its about 500 1 way...and while im there i school the locals on "them wankel motors" and show the corn feed ricers what a 20 year old rx7 can do to there mighty bitchy or honduh... 1 time this ******* way trying to get me to race.... no thanks im hualing a 4x8 box trailer that is 2 feet taller than my car.... what a ***..... so i went and droped the trailer at my uncles place and went back and layed down the rotor laws
good news my fellow rotor heads, i made the trip to and from ohio with no major problems. and while i was uo there mazdave replaced the spark plugs, distributor cap and fuel filter.
(how nice of him.) i'm glad lucy was good to me and the trip was great fun!!!

Did you pick up some Cheese? I hit alpine alpa eveytime I am up there for some Baby Swiss.
that trip up 77 is nice, and the view of the charlotesvill is great as you drive around it. Last time I drove it I was in a V10 F250 so much fun leaving everone going up the mountains. Dont guess I need to mention the Lions Den in WV.
I brought my 79 from NC to ALT last weekend. Trailing Ignitor went out but other than that it was great. Second gen seats felt great and the RB Muffler had a great sound.
