Transmission Shifting Question

My low mileage 79 RX-7 5 speed has always changed gears pretty well. It has virtually a new clutch in it. Then the other day, I was driving and could hardly shift it at all to the point where at one point I couldn't find a gear at all. I finally got it home.

The next day, after being parked over night, the problem wasn't there. I was able to shift it OK.

Anybody have any ideas?

Hydralics are prolly in need attention. Ever flushed the fluid from the clutch master/slave? That stuff doesn't last forever, and shouldn't be dark brown or black.

if u were shifting it thru the gears while sitting still, engine off, then yes it possibly will shift just fine. check and make sure the clutch master and/or slave cylinders aren't leaking down.
