Transmission Question?

Transmission Question?
I am trying to remove the clutch fork from the transmission so I can change the front seals. I removed the throwout bearing and according to both of the service manuals I have they vaguely imply it should pull right off.
Is this correct? This is for a 1980 Transmission.
Ive tried pulling it off but it feels like there is something holding it in place, so should I pull harder or do i need to unscrew something?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

There is a split type spring that is attached to the back side of the fork that clips around a sphear shape that is attached to the front of the transmission/bell housing. PULL & the spring will be forced to open & the fork will be free in your hand.
