Transmission fluid disappearing

I have an automatic tranny on my 85 gs, i lose transmission fluid every like 100 miles. My car starts to slip in first gear, and my exhaust does smell a little abnormal. Im not sure if white smoke coming from my exhuast everytime i start the car is normal either.

Check the pan at the bottom of the tranny, the lines that go to the cooler in the bottom of the radiator, and the rear seal. There aren't too many places that an auto tranny will leak from. Those are the most likely.

try the vacuum modulator.
pull the line where it goes into the intake to see if its got fluid in it.
its just a plastic diaphram, ive seen several develop a small leak that allows atf to enter the engine and get burned, which would also explain the funny exhaust smell.

Interesting way to keep carbon from forming in the engine.

I'm thinking the same, your car must be drenched with oil underneath.....

I had lots of issues with the rear seal where the driveshaft meets the tranny...

Suggestion only..... if you aren't to picky about keeping the car original, get a 5 speed, I was told that it made a huge difference in acceleration. Not to mention how much fun you'll have.
