What is the best way to get the tranny back into the car........i can get in there with just a 1/4" left then it wont buge

Thread your bolts in and tighten evenly and it will "pop" in.

usually, the dowel pins may not be aligned correcly. if not, the clutch and the shaft is not matching. What i do is install the propeller shaft in and turn it a few times, and sometimes it "pops" in (not to steal rotor vs piston's quote). You may have to loosen a few times, play with it, then do it again.

If the clutch was changed, make sure it has the same amount of teeth and the same size, preferrably take out the clutch and try fitting it first. Sometimes, people install the clutch backwards too (yup, there people even more stupid than me sometimes).
