Something like this then? :

But with the extra smart circuitry for the switch?

Just be sure not to etch yourself too deeply, that can be painful!

Absolutely PERFECT. Then put me down for an assembled one with certainty.
They just expanded emission testing here in Ontario to include cars over 20 yrs old (you'll have to be tested every year when other cars are every 2nd year up to 20 yrs old, then exempt). Common sense tells me the car HAS to run cleaner with this setup.

Thanks

If you want to build one for yourself, I have no problem with that. It is why I posted the info so that it could be shared. Building the boards is the toughest part of the whole thing. It makes it much easier for most people to have the board made and then assemble themselves.

I will put the rest of you down on the interest list for a kit/assembled unit.

Just letting you guys know what's going on. I still have not heard back from Ryan yet regarding the Group Buy. He may have overlooked the message. I do hate to bother him as I am sure he is very busy. I will send him another message in a few days just in case he did not receive it.

Guys,

There is now a section in the Group Buy forum for testing interest in a Group Buy. I posted this one there.

https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-center-69/sa-fb-ignition-upgrade-transistor-trick-486305/

Go ahead and add to it if you aren't on the list, but are interested. I will then send Ryan a message to approve the GB.

Thanks,

Kent

Just giving this thread a quick update. The listing for the assembled units is currently over. I can relist for another week if needed. The kit listing will finish in about 1 week. I am in the process of ordering the supplies. If you are interested and haven't contacted me, please do so. I am going to try to get enough supplies to have some extras. I am just trying to judge the amount to order. I don't want to have too few, because it would be awhile before I could do more of these.

Either way is cool. Just shoot me a pm and we will get it figured out. I'm calling it quits for the night (1:20am here). I'll get back to you in the morning.

The order for having the boards made has been submitted. I am having a bunch of extras made in case others decide to get on or for another GB in the future.

I put in an order on the RotaryX auction. I've never used that site before...I assume I'll get an e-mail with payment instructions after the auction is over?

Thanks,
Rich

Yes, Rich. I think it just does an email that says you won or something. I don't think it actually gives payment instructions. I can send you an invoice to your email (for using paypal) or just pm/email me and I will let you know. Thanks.

OK...thanks. Also, I'm planning on putting this on my supercharged car...will that work ok? I currently have the distributor locked and no vacuum advance to avoid detonation.

Thanks,
Rich

Yep. That will work fine. You will have to reset timing after instal as the circuit/2nd gen ignitor when 1st installed retards timing by about 8*. TurboSE was one of the original testers and he used it on his turbo SE with good results. If you have any questions, let me know.

Update

The circuit boards themselves have been made. They are currently on the way here. They may be here tomorrow, but more likely next week sometime. I have received the components for the boards. I also have the ignitor connectors/terminals on order. Those were quite difficult to find. They should be here in about 1 week or 2. I now just need to decide on wire.

I am going to start sorting the parts out and get them ready for assembly. I'll keep you guys posted.

Looks like fun! How long will it take you to assemble all of them?

Not sure. I have enough supplies to do around 75 of these. Some will be in kit form and some will be assembled. They should go together pretty fast. I think the majority of the time for building will be connecting wires, drilling the holes in the box, and testing.

Thanks for having the site available. I may have some extras. If so, I will list them on your site in a normal sale type fashion instead of a GB.
