Trailing plugs wet?/ Leading Dry?
Hey,
I was just about to attempt to try the emissions inspection again. I just put in fresh oil and I was putting in new plugs.
I just pulled the plugs (6 months old) and the trailing plugs are wet and even look a little light-brownish gooey.
The trailing look dry as can be.
Any ideas.?

Your trailing plugs might not be firing at all. Start your car with the trailing 'coil to cap' plug unplugged at the coil. Look at the coil with the car running and see if there is a spark. If there is no spark then your trailing ignitor is most likely out.

rear float stuck wouldn't explain why only trailing are wet on both rotor 1 and 2 and why leading are dry on both rotors 1 and 2.
Stuck float would give both leading and trailing wet on the second rotor if the rear float was stuck.

everything is apparently working.
Alright, I've pulled the trailing coil wire and turned the motor over and there appears to be good spark here as it arc's with authority.
Could there be a problem with it cutting out under load and not at idle?

Not likely. How about your wires? What condition are they in. How about the cap and rotor? Is the trailing pickup corroded? Once again, sorry for the mis info yesterday>

It doesnt have those spark plug oil saver sleeves in there does it? (doubtfull just thought I would ask) Have you done an ohms check (at temp) of the trailing coil? Im wondering if its only firing on occasion instead of all the time. This is a puzzler for sure.

replaced trailing coil, so far the plugs look like they are burning hot.
I'll leave it alone for a few weeks and then see how it handles over time.
