I am glad you are ok. Does the accident report show the other drive as 100% at fault? If you have receipts and a reputable mechanic to back you up (to verify condition), you might be able to increase the value of your seven over book, but then you would loose the car. Find other sevens in your area in similar condition for sale (if that is possible) to use for proof of your car's worth. Insurance companies just grab the few lowest advertised numbers they find, with most if not all of them beaters. Do your own research- it will save you $$. You will want to total the car, but keep it also (for the parts). That is why you must negotiate a high value, because they will pay you that amount minus the salvage value at auction that they would get selling the wreck. good luck.

OUCH.

I didn't think someone would walk away from an accident that bad in a FB. I feel a little safer in mine now......but I still think I should install a roll cage.

I just want to offer you my condolences on what appeared to have been a beautiful car. What a wreck! Lucky you're alright.

damn, and I thought my weekend was bad. My friend was driving me around in his POS 60's for pickup, with no seatbelts. Why I got in that truck I dont think I'll ever know.

10 minutes and 2 hit and runs accidents later, I had allmost died twice before 10 AM. but his truck after two accidetnts didnt have damage nearly as bad as your car FD racer. I guess they just dont make them like they used to.

actually, that's the point. Older vehicles don't crumple, so the shock of impact get transferred to the occupants. Newer vehicles including our sevens crumple into these dramatic ***** of twisted metal but many more drivers including our own forum member who opened this thread walk away relatively unscathed.

That stinks man, I am so sorry. That truck must have be like stopped (you hit him, right?) That car looked so nice. I hate seeing fellow fber's fb-less. Try and salvage all you can and put it into another. Good luck with the insurance and all that. I'm so happy you're okay because that was a nasty hit. LAter

WOW! I'm glad you're okay but boy does that suck! It's sad to see such a nice car get wasted but look on the bright side, you're healthy and, more importantly you have a new FB project to look forward too.

Dam!, thats a sad shame. As the others have said I am very happy to hear you are ok.
I was hit near head on in my 83 from a mid 70's 4 door malibu, a little paint on his bumper and he nearly totalled my car. It's amazing though my wife and I were not hurt all that bad. If we were driving a Fiero we would have been a lot worse off. The FB's are made very very well!.

You know, Im really glad that youre ok. I remember when I first noticed you on this board, and I remember reading about all the "goodies" you were installing as they were being installed. I remember reading all about the new engine, seeing the pictures, etc. I remember when you were talking about the suspension when that was installed. I remember the FD ignition coil. I remember so much about that car, it really hurts to see it "gone". I wish you the best of luck in getting what you want for it, and I hope that all of your go fast goodies and parts come out of that mess ok.

Sorry. When I first saw pictures of your car I thought it looked very nice, too bad it had to end that way. Hope you can find a better one to build on in the future.
