In short-- Yes.
13,500 dollars for a 20 year old car is VERY expensive. Yes, that is a LOT of work... i am not disregarding how much work and time has been put into that car not to mention its emaculate condition... but you are talking about a swap that would cost you roughly three thousand dollars (not including labor) and very little modifications to teh interior... Also notice that it says 6,000km travelled... AFTER the turbo swap. So don't let that 6,000 km fool you.

Things I noticed:

1. 1985 is not SA22C.
2. The Heat/AC logicon and center console look suspiciously more like a pre 1984 than a 1985.
3. Who would drop that much money into a rotary, and then list it as a 2 cylinder?
4. Is it actually 160HP or 160KW? Because 160KW is 214.4HP and sounds a lot more appealing for the money.
5. DAMN, that's a sweet looking car!

Just some observations,
Brian

Well.... it has a turbo and it looks nice but 160 hp to wheels isnt anything special... the 13B is like 138 stock and 6000km to the new engine can be horrible if he drives the **** out of it, and considering it has a turbo... its more than likely, but what do i know... you get get a 2nd gen turbo 2 in good shape for less than that for sure. but if you want to spend like 13k go ahead, they are awsome, i love mine, so much fun...

Looks nice but what's the actual mileage?

No frikkin way would I ever pay close to that. Like it would cost 15-20k to get it to it's current state. Then again, I don't believe in paying for someone else's mods.

I've seen stock FDs go for less.

I guess as a seller mind as well throw the price out there and see who's stupid enough to bite.

All 1st gens in Australia were SA22C chassis cars. There never was an FB imported there. They had a 12A, but they came with GSL-SE suspension if I remember correctly. The lack of the US-spec 84-84 interior is standard in Australia as well. The car is worth 15k most likely, just not to anyone who's responded to the thread yet. Is it worth 15k to me? Yep. Would I buy it? Nope, rather do the work myself. As far as FDs go, this car, if it IS actually 160 kilowatts and not 160 horsepower, should almost be able to keep up to a stock FD. It wouldn't take many more mods to make it much faster than an FD (then again, FDs respond quite well to mods as well). These things are going classic soon, so expect prices to gradually creep upwards to where they should be for fine examples, like the car in question (presumably).

I certainly wouldnt be paying that much for it, maybe take off $5-6k then it might be a bit more realistic...160kw wouldnt be all that bad, 160hp is pertty dismal for all the work he has done

Maybe i should email him and go check it out and see how it goes

12ATs were fuel injected from the factory. Central locking is something you can get done, like an alarm. I don't think its THAT hard, anyway.

central locking is pretty easy to do on any car you can get aftermarket kits for 2 door cars for about $260AU or something like that
