tire size

I was wondering, what is the biggest tire you can fit on a base model rx, without ANY modifications? I was thinking 15 up front and 16's on the rear.

why do you want bigger wheels on the back ? why not go for the same size all round ... you can swap them front - rear to even out tyre wear

I'm going for 15x7 with 205/50VR15's all round

You can fit 17s without modifications. As long as you maintain close to the 23.7" overall diameter (SE spec, may be slightly different for non-SE), general tire width, rim width and offset you will be all set. You can stray from all of those measurements if you measure properly. For example, the following tires have a similar overall diameter:

205/60R14 = 23.7"
205/55R15 = 23.9"
205/45R16 = 23.3"
205/50R16 = 24.1"
205/40R17 = 23.5"
and even 215/35R18 = 23.9"

Those are all very close to the same overall diameter and should give you no clearance problems. There are certainly other sizes that would work as well. Tires are available in all of the above sizes, btw.
