Tire Profile--How thin?

I was wondering how low of a profile can i go without sacrificing the ride? I have heard that suspension components have much to do with this, thus the better the suspension the less noticeable the sacrifice of ride quality. Is anyone using a profile as low as 35?

Mike

im running 205-40-17 with RB springs and i would not go lower then that. if you have soft springs you could try it if you want.

Yeah, a few people have told me that anything lower than 40, you can really feel the bumps.

Next question-----for those of you who are using a 7.5" wheel, I need to know if using a stock SE offset (40+) caused any rubbing issues. I used a tire calculator and then went out and looked at my SE and it seems like it will be real close. I'm only concerned about the front wheel of course and assuming that a 205 wide wheel is being used.

I wouldn't go any shorter than a 50 series tire because I don't want to damage my wheels if I hit pot holes.
