Not sure about in US but tinted windows are illegal for competition in Australia, check if you want to compete regularly, just a suggestion

Tint is just a really sticky film it should stick to whatever it touches

Just being cautious, I'd be interested to hear what the SCCA take is on tinting. Back to your ?, I really don't know, maybe the best bet would be to do a sample and let it weather to see what happens? Are you using the ISC kit, because I'm looking at that also, I've got ideas for the door windows to, PM me...

most any window tint says specifically do not use on plexiglass, which i would assume equivalent to any other plastic in that nature.

okay so after googleing this i have discovered that the process to tint polycarbonate is a few years away.. automobile makers are toying with the idea as we speak.. as for right now you have to tint the scratch coating.. which is very hard.. so in other words no i can not do it. lexan on the other hand comes in a couple colors.. nothing really dark yet but can be bronze and grey .. so i guess i answered my own questions.. so if i want the weight savings i have to have clear windows. which sucks. unless i can some how figure out how to do it.

My question is:
If you're not racing, why do you want poly windows?

Because the car is faster when lighter, this works every time not just on the race track

you better not be suggesting its *gasp* overkill. its a performance thing. plus once i replace the hatch im not going to need the heater anymore to defrost it. that means even more weight savings.

why not just try tinting a small piece? if you like the way it turns out then do you car. there is tint remover if you ever decide to race competitively.

I've tried tinting motorcycle wind screens before...pretty sure they are made out of the same material as what you'll be using? Didn't work so well. I got the Nightshades stuff and tinted them with that...you can barely see through it though, was just a cob fix until my tinted windscreen I had ordered came in...Not sure if that helps at all lol.
