timing question

i need to know which notch in the crank pulley is for leading and which is for timing... when looking at the crank from the front... mine have long been colorless.. plus my car will run good at high rpms but it will die when the choke lets off.. plus while i drive it the only time it runs well is when you floor it.... any ideas?

Leading mark, which should be yellow, is to the right, and trailing, which should be red, is on the left.
