Timing

This is my first time setting the timing on a rotary motor. Where is tdc? I know how to set timing on a piston motor but this is obviously a lot different. Any words of advice for a novice? Thanks

As I understand it TDC is with the flat side of the Rotor towards the Spark Plugs. People in another thread were saying to just get a Degree wheel to save yourself trouble.

the degree wheel is of little use to you with an assembled engine.

find TDC (or just use the leading mark on the main pulley) and line the "dimple" on the distributor shaft with the tab. install the distributor with the locking hole as close to the center of the adjustment range as possible. fire it and set the timing with a light.

if it's a case where you pulley might be altered, then to find true TDC, you can use the flywheel. you can search user "TDC" in the subject and Siraniko in the member. it should bring up some good stuff for you.
