Time for my 7's 6th month nap.

I did some searching but didn’t find anything to answer my question. So here it goes I just put my 7 in hibernation November 22. This week I have to make up my mind on how to store it. Should I start it every other week, or disconnect the battery and turn the belt? Rally imports the company that rebuilt the engine told me to turn the engine belt every other week, but if I just let it run every other week for 15mins should I be safe. Will I lose any advantages starting the car vs. storing it Besides time and gas?

Sorry if this topic has been done I just haven’t found it yet.

Thanks chris

There is a great writeup in the archives for storing your 7. Starting it every couple of weeks and letting warm to operating temps is fine. Do make sure the fuel tank is full and has the right mix of Sta-Bil in it. I also recommend a fresh oil change before storage.

I have read the write-up its great.

What I wanted to know was. If I keep starting it every couple weeks are there any problems that may result from this. That would not come into play storing it.

Other than perhaps the battery running down, no. You may wish to invest in a battery tender while it's in storage.

Ya, the writeup in the archives is great as you've probably already found out. Glad I don't have to store mine.
