Throttle and Other Cable Locations??
Throttle and Other Cable Locations??
Just put the carb back on my '83. And realized I didn't pay enough attention when taking off the throttle and hot-start cables. The choke was obivious and the cruise cable isn't going back on.
I searched for over an hour for a simple picture of where these go, but no luck. So if anyone has a picture or easy-to-follow directions, I'm up for it. I've found some pics but not specifically of that area so there hard to follow.
Also, now that I'm thinking of it, what all controls the vacuum secondaries? I don't think they're opening or the throttle cable's just not hooked up right and not opening enough. Something's wrong somewhere.

The cable I'm holding is the throttle. The one below is the hot start.
Here are two pics of where the hot start cable goes. It connects to the hanging piece closest to the carb IIRC. The throttle cable hooks to the outtermost cable hookup on the carb.

No mechanical secondaries yet. But I was thinking I either messed up something with putting the throttle cable back because I couldn't recall which way it went on or I was having an issue with the secondaries. Basically at WOT, its ball-less. It's not a bog, it feels like the throttle isn't opening all the way.
Also, thanks for the pics, waysrx7

Thanks again for the pics, I did have the throttle cable on the wrong one and it wasn't opening all the way. I also fiqured out my inop secondaries. The small rod on the front right of the carb came loose. Guess I forgot a cotter pin. Oops. Everything seems alright for now. Thanks for the help.
