thermoswitch location

thermoswitch location

where is it? putting in my electric fan, don't have a clue where the heck this thing is at.

It looks like a thin silver probe to be carefully inserted in through the cooling fins of the radiator. I put mine near the top of the radiator near the top hose outlet as I think that is the hot-spot.

If youre looking for a stock one, the cars dont have one, its a unit that comes with some fans. If yours didnt, go buy one at the local auto parts store. Theyre around $40 here, and as said, you put the probe through the radiator fins as close to the inlet as possible (top right).

damn, the kit I have has a brass fitting for the coolant temperature. don't want to spend more money, can this be used and how?

What does the brass fitting look like? What "kit" did you buy? From where? Do you have a part number for it?
