Thermostat

Is anyone using a thermostat on a street port 12a? If so, at what temp? I could not find any info on this.

180* is the standard thermostat. No need for anything else. If you want to improve cooling, install an FMOC if you still have the beehive.

not using a thermostat can result in your engine overheating. as trochoid stated, 180* is the ONLY reccomended thermostat for a 12A, ported or not.

also wanted to add that i only use mazda oem t-stats. i just havent had good luck with aftermarket units and i've even seen some produced without the jiggle pin..which is needed.

^ Not all aftermarket thermostats have the 'jiggle pin' or work with the internal bypass in the water pump housing. OEM is the only way to go.
