Thermo Reactor Inserts

Remind me if the big thermo reactor insert goes in the front or back? When I remove the exhaust on my 1979 they dropped out before I could see where they go.

I know they are keyed so that isn't an issue with which direction the large opening faces. Looks like the opening of the large one faces the front of the car.

I have mine with the long one to the rear, opening facing forward.

Makes sense if you think of trying to keep the path lengths equal.
