MN Thank you

Hello everyone. I have been lurking around these forums again for the past few months, scouring for information while working on my project car. After 5 long years (mostly of the car just being in storage) I finally have a running Rx! I just wanted to post a thank you to everyone for all the help you provided, I could not have done this without your help.

Here are some pics of my car, its not yet completely finished as you can see.

This is my first time building an engine (that ended up in running condition) and my first time ever attempting to tune a carburetor. I will have plenty of questions as I attempt to get it running perfect.

Again, thank you

Nate

Thanks for the compliments. I do not know the color code, but I think it was one of the factory colors for a Hyundai. The car was originally blue, but that was faded and peeling really bad.

Anyway, I am in St. Michael.

There's a distinct shortage of green FBs in the States. Good work.

My bro's GSL-SE was a coffee house green when he got it, but its original color was beige.

Very nice work. I wish I lived in a state where I could strip my engine bay down to essentials.

do you find that the car runs better with vacuum hooked up to the distrubuter and the fuel regulator? I think you only want the fuel regulator hooked up if you have boost

I guess I do not know. I thought the directions on the regulator said you could hook it up without boost. Maybe I will cap it later tonight and take it for a test run.

You can hook it up without boost. If you do, it will reduce fuel pressure under vacuum. Whether you want that or not is something you have to decide. Most people who run blow-though turbo/supercharger setups take the reference for the FPR from before the throttle plates, where the air pressure is always positive.

Yeah I caped it off and it hardly made a difference. Maybe a slight improvement, but its hard to tell with the way it is currently running.

I am going to have to figure out what is clogging the gas tank vent tomorrow. Hopefully that will fix some of the issues I am having. It is kind of tough to trouble shoot this thing with all these unproven components.
